September 2007 Progress Report

Our little construction project is
in the final phase.

We should be completed and
ready for guests beginning November 2007.

The lighthouse is being stuccoed.

John...notice Susan painted the seagulls
on YOUR sign...
She said she couldn't see them.

Efren installed a seat in the viewing room on the lighthouse.

Now you can sit and relax
while enjoying the view from the top.

The tiles for the casitas arrived and
Efren is installing them.

tile1.jpg tile2.jpg

We selected the tiles at a tile store in Santa Rosalia
about 50 minutes from Mulege.

Efren ordered them and the tile store
delivered the boxes to our place.

tile3.jpg tile4.jpg

The tiles are ceramic and
made in northern Baja.

We shouldn't have trouble with water
staining this kind of tile.

These pictures are without the grout.
The picture below shows the tan grout installed.

Nolani is looking for the FOOD BOWL in the kitchen!!!

Mayoral Trucking of Mulege delivered our batteries.
The Mayoral Family drives up and down baja.

These are "Surrette" batteries...
the "Rolls Royce" of ALL batteries.

We hired a couple of kids from town
to assist with unloading.

The batteries weigh 272 pounds each.
We bought 36 batteries.
Those kids are stronger than they look!!!

We purchased the batteries from Solatron in Victorville CA.
This is an excellent place to purchase solar products.

They have a warehouse full of solar products and
provide service AFTER the sale.

Solatron shipped the batteries to
Miramar Customs in San Diego.

Brent at Miramar Customs did the import again.
Everything went smoothly.
