June 2006 Progress Report

We took a ride to Mulege during the four day weekend.
The area is practically EMPTY.
All the "snowbirds" have gone home.

The weather was outstanding...
clear and warm.

We raked the beach with the tractor.
We'll add a few of inches of sand later
when the construction is completed.

We took some time out and added an extension
to the water line
so we could have a spigot behind the trailer.

Now...
the trailer uses water from the underground water tank.

We've used half the water in the water tank.
We contacted Sr. Santana in town and
he agreed to deliver another truckload
of water next week.

We'll be buying a dual axel trailer soon,
to haul water from town ourselves.

We have a source that makes trailers.
We'll put a 500 gallon plastic tank on it.

Water weighs 8 pounds a gallon.
That's 4000 pounds a load... water is heavy!!!

We also cleaned up the wiring for the water pump
and started with the permanent electrical wiring.

For the garage, all the wiring will be in conduit
screwed to the concrete block.
This way we can change and add
to it later as necessary.

We stopped at the Home Depot and picked up an Ice Maker.
It uses very little electricty and costs around $150.00.
Just add bottled water and plug it in.

Ice cubes can be made in three different sizes.
It takes seven to ten minutes to make a tray of cubes.

Susan had a GREAT time making "gourmet" ice cubes!!!

When you are located in a place with no city water,
no regular electric service, no telephone service,
this is a real treat!!!

Mace from La Bahia
is in Phase Two.
He has piped water to each lot.

Strict CCR's are in place for both projects.

Armando and Delia's son, Armando Jr.,
has just started to split his lots next to La Bahia.
