August 2006 Progress Report

Bob and I took off for another long weekend in Mulege.

It was hot again...about 100 degrees in the day and 80 at night.
The evening breeze was refreshing.

We left wednesday night after Bob got off of work and returned Sunday.
We stayed the night in Camalu about 4 hours south of the border.

This hotel is newer and is boat and trailer friendly.
Lot's of room to maneuver the truck.
The rooms are $25 a night for 1 bed and $35 a night for two beds.
The $25 rooms are very clean.

Bob hooked up the Suzuki and we towed it to it's new home.
Now Captain Mike,
our friend, can fly me down...
I'll have a car available.

The Suzuki is now in Mulege.

The tow mount for the Suzuki was made by a guy back east.
It just bolts onto the frame.

I had to go to the muffler shop and have the two tabs for the two bar welded on.

Bob was working...again!!!

Bob played on his tractor.
All boys want a tractor...

He finished spreading another mound of dirt.
Only 18 piles left to spread.

We finally mounted the power panel inverter.
It's really HEAVY!!!
Bob couldn't have done this without me.
Good thing I'm strong!!!

We have two inverters, both are Trace 4000 watt 24 volt monsters.
We bought them from

Solar Info and Supplies

in Victorville , CA
These people are an excellent source for solar items and they stand behind their products.
You won't find a better source.

Bob FINALLY took me to dinner!!!

We went to lunch at Melys for chicken...
and
Dinner at Francisco's Los Equipales for fish.

Peter and Colette...
My "gormet ice maker" is still working perfectly.

I tried to freeze tap water we brought from Upland but it tastes horrible.
Only bottled water for me from now on!!!

Bob made some more road signs and installed them.
